Abstract: Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) is a prevalent endocrine disorder affecting women of reproductive age, characterized by hormonal imbalance, irregular menstruation, and metabolic complications. Conventional treatments, while effective, often carry side effects and may not be accessible to all patients. In recent years, herbal drug therapies have gained significant attention as complementary or alternative options due to their natural origin, minimal side effects, and holistic benefits. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the pathophysiology of PCOD and critically examines current herbal remedies used in its management, highlighting their pharmacological actions, efficacy, and safety profiles. Additionally, the review explores emerging trends in herbal drug research and future prospects for integrating these therapies into standard PCOD treatment protocols. The aim is to inform healthcare practitioners and researchers about the potential role of herbal drugs in improving patient outcomes and advancing personalized care for women with PCOD.
